The short story - I’m a programmer and work as consultant in Web & Enterprise Java/JEE solutions in Boston.
The long story.
I would be lying if I said, I always wanted to be a programmer or was fascinated with computers. The truth is, I only laid my hands on computers in the eight grade on a _very_well_known_software_ called lotus-1-2-3. I got a 100 in it, but that’s because my teacher thought I was cute. I got my first email on yahoo in the summer of 1998. Engineering didn’t happen by accident nor it was my destiny but because, there wasn’t much choice to avaialble to me, coming from a family of doctors and engineers. Sometimes, we (I?) aren’t really fortunate enough to _do_what_we_wanna_do all the time, and the when the right time kicks in, it’s a little too late.
After 5 years of working as a programmer and some of the fancy titles that were designated to me from the big companies, I decided to free myself in the fall of 2006, from the _corporate_ladder_climbing_ game, to work as a consultant, concentrating more on core programming and technology. I enjoy programming for the sheer joy of the creative process. I’d probably do this for free rather than for money but it’s hard to do that when it’s your only bread earner. Pschh.
